During the afternoon’s competition a number of Novice, Intermediate and County gymnasts were on show. In the Intermediate 8/9 years the competition was won by Ashleigh Shovel. Ashleigh’s steady performances on all four pieces of apparatus made her the clear winner, ahead of the silver medallist from Callywith and Yuki Cornish taking the overall Bronze medal.
Charlotte Fidler and Madison Stanfield took some individual apparatus medals for their steady performances and were ranked in overall 5th and 6th places consecutively.
9 year old Zara Mitchell dominated the Intermdiate 9/10 years taking all 5 gold medals, team mate Autumn-Star Mills was close behind sharing the Vault title with Zara and the overall silver medal. Emerald Smith (9) took the overall bronze medal with consistent routines.
In the County Level 3 event the competition was extremely closely contested. Phoebe Jenkin took the overall Gold medal withe Harly Beale just behind in silver medal place.
Libby Rescorla made changes to her routines on the day of the competition due a back injury. Libby’s consistency topped the rankings in overall Gold medal place with Heather Bolton in silver and Megan Morris just behin with the bronze medal.
The boys were also in action with Calum Walklett leading the way with a number of apparatus medals including the all around title. Elliot Bullen (10) was ranked in silver medal position and Matt Heaney taking the bronze.
Kai Cornish also took the Gold medal on Floor within this age group and a number of other apparatus medals.
Jonny Murray headed the way in the Under 14 event taking the overall title with team mate Jake Hubbard in silver position.
