Congratulations

Well done to both Leandros Papastavros and Cameron Jenkin for achieving their standing flic unsupported last week.  And also to Zoe Hopkins who has learnt her Straddle undershoot off the low bar for the first time.  The coaches are proud of you all.  We will put these achievements up in our waiting area for all the parents and members to see.  Keep up the good work.

Elite Boys sponsored walk

On the 30th December our competition boys, their coaches and parents took on an 8 mile sponsored walking challenge through Penrose Walks through to Loe Bar into Porthleven, and back again, in order to raise money for new boy’s competition kit.

Well done to Ashton, Cameron J, Matt B, Elliot, Matthew H, Calum, Kai, Jonny and Jaron for completing the long trek!  Thank you to the weather for behaving itself for the day.  So far the boys have raised approximately £520 for their efforts.

A big thank you to Tracy for organising the event and all the parents that made the effort to walk with their children through the mud and wet!!  We thank you all for your efforts.

South West Grades 2012 and End of season report

Swallows gymnasts end the season with some great results

10 young gymnasts travelled to Plymouth last Sunday for their last competition of the season.

Competing for their Club were gymnasts taking Grades 14, 13 and 11 hoping to achieve a Pass at their relevant grade.

In the Grade 14 competition, the Swallows of Helston entered 4 young 8 year olds all hoping to perform to the highest level.  The girls had to perform set elements as laid down by British Gymnastics.  This was the first competition in which the girls had travelled to compete at a South West event and the pressure was on to make sure that they performed to their very best.
