Swallows Girls compete at their first County Novice
Young gymnasts form the Club competed on Sunday at, for many, their first County Novice Development competition. In true style the girls all did fantastically well bringing home a number of medals for their hard work.
7 years – Scarlett Thompson took the Silver medal overall and was placed 3rd on vault and 2nd on floor in her first competition.
8 years – Ashleigh Shovel took the Silver medal overall and was placed 2nd on vault and 3rd on floor. Club mate Stella Laws took the 1st place on floor and overall 4th position in the event against 25 other gymnasts.
9 years – Nancy Read and Amy Manley tied for 3rd place on vault with Kaitlyn Standing in 1st place on floor, and taking the overall silver medal. Amy finished just outside the overall rankings in 4th place overall.
In the 9 and Under team event, Swallows Team ‘C’ comprising of Amy Manley, Nancy Read, Kaitlyn Standing and Josie Martin finished in overall Silver medal position 0.399 behind the gold medallists. Swallows Team ‘A’ finished in 6th place with Team ‘B’ in 4th.
11 years – Shannon Standing was place 3rd on vault, and narrowly missed overall bronze by 0.104.
12 years – Bethany Davies took =3rd place on vault in her first ever competition at this level.
15 years – Tiegan Wheat was placed 1st on floor and 2nd on vault taking the overall silver medal just 0.32 behind the gold medal winner.
A great start to 2013.
